Weekly BLOG: Overcoming Obstacles – Gaining The Inside Advantage

flowing fountainSometimes when you face obstacles or things thrown in front of you on your path, what do you do?

I guess it depends on the specific situation, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that what’s there is meant to block you—it does NOT mean you can’t move forward in a positive direction, in spite of whatever seems to be holding you back.

You could find a way to go around, over, or through the immediate “wall” because even when you feel stuck in one place, you are moving forward in time, even if you are not making the progress you would like.

Maybe a better way to see this:  Wonder how badly you want what’s on the path beyond the obstacles—what goals are you trying to reach, what is it you want to create for yourself or others, what do you truly want to experience on this journey?

And you may just have to think about that for a while. Maybe it’s there to force you to take an unexpected detour from your originally planned route, but that doesn’t mean it can’t bring you moments of joy, peace, love, and success—what I refer to as experiencing The Inside Advantage.

That detour will still offer new opportunities for new and different experiences than you had previously imagined. Rather than putting up resistance to these obstacles, perhaps embracing them will allow life to flow more smoothly; you may find that you are stronger, more resilient, and even more adventurous than you realized.

It really does depend on your perspective, doesn’t it?

Wishing you a safe and pleasant journey…
