Two weeks exploring FRANCE can only touch the tip of the iceberg; a lifetime wouldn’t be enough to discover it all!
There were a few very special moments when I put the camera away, became FULLY AWARE of where I was, what I was doing, what I was seeing, hearing, or tasting, and most importantly HOW I was feeling – allowing my senses to capture the moment instead of the camera. Even without a photo to remind me, these moments are the ones that will forever be deeply etched into my mind, heart and spirit.
I will always remember standing alone for a while at the corner of one of the many vineyards, Saint-Emilion to be exact, just east of Bordeaux, doing nothing but looking out over the fields of grape vines growing neatly in rows, blue skies above, feeling the sunlight’s warmth and the cool breeze across my face, listening to birds chirping in nearby trees.
I closed my eyes and intentionally told myself to remember this sweet moment of serenity and joy. It just doesn’t get much better than this, unless of course someone hands you a glass of wine!
To see my photo of this scene, one of the Cloisters in Saint-Emilion, and more, I invite you to visit CWLauro.com. More moments to share next time. See you then…
