Another memorable moment in France:

Having left the warm, dry comfort of the hotel in Bayonne, one of the many places I connected with spiritually, I found myself on a cogwheel train going up into the Pyrenees Mountains.

It was cold, windy, and very damp; in fact most of the time I was in the middle of clouds. There were no windows to close, so the air slapped my cheeks as I leaned out to see all that was there: valleys and many more mountains in the distance, rocks positioned eons ago, lush green ferns unfurling, yellow wild flowers, rushing water in a stream, sheep, horses, and mountain goats.

At times I closed my eyes and listened to the French narration, which I couldn’t understand. His voice sounded very peaceful and soothing, as if he was telling an enchanting tale; I felt like a child and it made me smile — that’s having The Inside Advantage!

As I stepped off the train, I was no longer in France, but now in Spain! My heart raced as I climbed the steep steps; my reward was not only exhilaration, but also a highly-anticipated cup of thick hot chocolate on the mountaintop which helped to warm me for the ride back down.

The best photos are the other ones I took with my senses – those are now stored in my mind, heart, and spirit forever.

More special moments to come. See you next week…
