Wearing Two Different Styles of Earrings Every Day Since 1996

I said last week that I like being unique. what is one thing I do differently than most?

If you should ever see me in person, you may or may not notice that I am  wearing two different styles of earrings, one on each earlobe. I started doing this in 1996 and have done this every day since then.

I do this because to me, it represents being open to change. Just because we have done things in certain ways in the past does not mean we have to continue doing them. We are always free to choose not only our thoughts and mental images, but also our behaviors. We need to realize that at any given moment we are free to create our futures more the way we want them to be.

Wearing unmatched earrings may sound like an easy thing to do; it wasn’t for me. Being a nonconformist was not how I had defined myself. After all, I had been very self-conscious; I tried to be perfect. In the past, I certainly would not have wanted to draw attention to myself because then I would be more open to criticism and rejection. Wearing unmatched earrings is not what most people expect to see. What would people think? That was one of my biggest problems—caring so much about what others thought of me. Over time, I have come to believe deep down that it really does not matter what other people’s opinions of me are, as long as I believe in myself. This is what having The Inside Advantage is all about.

The earrings above are some of the sets I created in my Celebration Collection — like ones that I can mix and match.

Thanks for joining me this week. Enjoy your moments!

Blessings, Love and Light,

Cathy
